Paal Poori / Paal Poli

A friend has invited us for a dinnner, so thought of doing some sweet. Called up my super chef (my sister Chitra) and was listing down all the sweet names and atlast came to a conclusion to do "Paal Poori".

It came out very well, Sathish loved it and wants to have it again, so did the same the week next for another friend's invite..aiyo pavam :) ..

Ingredients
Wheat flour - 1 cup
Maida flour - 1/4 cup
Oil - 1 tsp
Oil - for frying poori
Ghee - 2 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Water - to knead the dough
Coconut milk - 1/2 can
Sugar - as per taste
cardomom powder - 1/2 tsp

Preparation method

Make small pooris in usual manner
In a bowl, Mix wheat flour, maida flour, salt, ghee. Add water and knead well. Apply oil over the hand, knead again and place the dough covered for 20-25 mins.

Divide the dough into very small pieces and roll out using rolling pin. Fry the pooris.

Paal
In a flat pan, pour the coconut milk and bring it to heat. Once it starts boiling, add sugar and cardomom powder and stir for a minute and switch off
Put the pooris in the hot coconut milk and immerse well. Leave it for a minute and then roll the poori (or you can even fold) and keep it separately.

You can add saffron/almonds over the poori
